Unitarian Church Property Sale in Adelphi

Brown circular building with a raised walkway surrounded by trees.

Paint Branch Unitarian Universalist Church (PBUUC) sold their home of 60 years to First Hijrah Foundation, a Muslim community group serving members of the Ethiopian and Eritrean community around DC. The property is at 3215 Powder Mill Road in Adelphi, Maryland.

PBUUC’s 20,000 SF property consists of two custom-construction buildings: a 1963 school and a 1990 meeting house. Each is an innovative building with circular spaces reflecting the values of Unitarian Universalism. The property totals five wooded acres.

First Hijrah is moving from their current location on Georgia Ave NW to Adelphi and couldn’t be happier with their new home. They intend to use the space for a mosque and community education rooms and offices.

James Miers and Steve Catalano of NAI Michael handled the sale.
