Office Portfolio Settles in Largo

Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) has a new home in Largo, Maryland. They recently purchased the former University of Maryland Global Campus properties at 1616, 1601, and 1440 McCormick Drive, Largo, MD for $75,000,000. M-NCPPC acquired the buildings to consolidate its administrative offices to a single location. The sale included: 1616 McCormick Drive, a 236,620 square foot office building; 1601 McCormick Drive, a 62,102 square foot flex building; and 1440 McCormick Drive, a 6.85-acre parcel of land. The buildings are LEED Gold certified and offer many unique features, including on-site dining, fitness center, sun-filled atriums, high-quality data infrastructure, and large conference facilities.

According to Maryland Newsletters, M-NCPPC will relocate its planning department from Upper Marlboro and its parks department from Riverdale into the new campus. UMGC had made the decision to sell the properties after changing to a hybrid work model during the covid pandemic.

M-NCPPC calling Largo home further enhances this growing area, with the Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation, the Wayne K. Curry County Administration building, Kaiser Permanente, the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center, Children’s National, and more located nearby.
