History
Back in the 1970s, Kenneth H. Michael recognized the need for a commercial real estate firm in a growing Prince George’s County and started the Kenneth H. Michael Companies, Inc. The company rapidly became the local market leader and, in 1981, joined the NAI Global family, becoming NAI The Michael Companies, Inc.
Still a family-run business, NAI Michael has more than 50 years of experience in real estate and is intimately familiar with all transaction types and facets of the business. Kenneth H. Michael served on many of Prince George’s County’s major county business organizations. His son Gary Michael now serves as president and is highly recognized on various boards throughout Prince George’s County. His son David Michael serves as a Senior Vice President and is also highly involved in many community outreach organizations.
In 2016, Kenneth H. Michael was inducted into the Maryland Business Hall of Fame. Today, Mr. Michael serves as NAI Michaels’ Chairman of the Board.

Wayne K. Curry
No mention of our history would be complete without a tribute to Wayne K. Curry, former president of NAI Michael, who passed away in 2014 after a hard-fought battle with lung cancer. After starting with NAI Michael in the 1970s, Mr. Curry went on to a career in politics, eventually being elected the County Executive for Prince George’s County, MD. Following a successful political career, he returned to NAI Michael as our company president. He had a profound impact on NAI Michael, Prince George’s County, Maryland, and the entire region, and we all deeply miss him.
